![]() DUNDEE ✉ the transmitter ❝ words have more meanings then you realize. ❞ A long time ago, though it was truthfully only about 39 years ago, Ian Malone was born in a small town in Northern Scotland, with a voice that could stop people in their tracks; or at least call attention to himself. He hardly ever did call attention to himself unless it was needed, however, choosing instead to be the calm one among his various groups of friends. His life was exceptionally normal compared to some of his fellow operatives both within the British order and within the overall world order. By the time the order approached him at the age of 29, he had been teaching English for several years at a very vigorous secondary school and had recently come out of a long term relationship. The British order offered him the position of Dundee, one that perhaps was a bit antiquated, but nonetheless still useful from time to time. He accepted gladly and that's when his life...turned complicated.❝ the voice is supposed to cut through noise. ❞ Operatives who had the codename Dundee were given the ability to telepathically send thoughts over long distances, a power greatly needed in the time before computers or cellphones. Sometimes information needed to be delivered immediately and Dundee was there to send them. Historically, this caused a connection of sorts to form between the Dundee operatives and the Aberdeen operatives due to the fact that the Aberdeens would, in effect, receive everything and give it to the Dundees to send out. It's hardly uncommon for a Dundee to last a fairly long time as operatives, and unfortunately cycle through at least one or two (if not more) Aberdeens during their tenures. Ian has been no exception, losing three overall in the ten years he's been with the order. His power suits him, but the loss of Aberdeen operatives hits him harder than it should.❝ you're talented enough to multitask, the last i checked. ❞ Before he was granted Dundee's abilities, Ian had no problem making friends, and even after he was gifted the powers, he's still fairly easy to get along with and befriend, provided that he likes you himself. Right now, however, and even if it sounds pathetic to him, one of the people he cares the most about happens to be one Hallah Tawse, the current Aberdeen. His feelings with regard to her are complicated and he's not entirely too sure he'll ever figure them out completely, but he knows that if she has to bow out as Aberdeen he may have to follow her and step down from his own position.( send and receive | dundee and aberdeen ) |
